February 22nd

We all have the same fears, fear of losing what we have, fear of not having love in our lives, of not having what we think would give us security, whether it is enough money or enlightenment or whatever we think we want. And ultimately, there is the fear of death, of giving up all that we know.

What do we do with our fearful thoughts? Do we accept responsibility for them or do we blame others? Do we instantly try to escape from fear, or do we turn to observing the manifestation of fear in ourselves? It is through the awareness of fear and our responses to it, that we come to know who we really are, beyond the ego-self.

When we surrender to the unknown and trust what we cannot see but know in our hearts to be true, we move beyond the fear based ego-self where we leave the past behind us. We touch eternity and yet live completely in the present moment. When we come to know fear, we know who we are. We know we are all we have ever longed for. We are peace and serenity, for there is no separation between us and the world around us.
