In the beginning, students often remark that it is hard to change. But that is only a belief and beliefs can be dropped when we allow ourselves to see that they interfere with our freedom of movement. It isn't difficult to change, for change comes easily out of awareness. It is just that we do not trust that change can happen. The possibility of change often seems removed from who we think we are.

When there is awareness of our negative thinking, change occurs, for change requires only clarity and awareness, not time. It is only resistance and holding unconscious beliefs that require time. Thinking it is hard to change will keep change from happening, but by observing that thinking, seeing how it interferes and limits us, we begin to move beyond our conditioned way of life.

We all want transformation without giving up our old interfering ways. We tend to hold onto who we think we are, rather than letting go of the images and habits, which allows us to be more who we really are.
